For many families, fall is a time when jam-packed schedules and conflicting priorities can pull parents and kids in opposing directions. Family volunteer engagement provides opportunities to slow down, engage in quality interactions, align values with actions, and exert a positive influence on the community. Family engagement also allows kids to fulfill school service requirements, explore social issues, and develop greater awareness about what really matters to them. In addition, kids who engage in community service are more likely to participate in civic engagement as adults. In other words, it’s a win-win for everyone!
