Does your child need adaptive or mobility equipment not covered by insurance? Is it too expensive to purchase on your own? Or perhaps the process of getting it is just taking too long and your child needs something now. Or maybe you’d just like to have the opportunity for your child to try something to see how it works?
Your answer might be at Children’s Assistive Technology Service (CATS), an online no-cost resource for pediatric durable medical equipment, provided by volunteers who collect donations of gently used equipment, clean and refurbish it, and make it available to children who live or receive medical care in Virginia. With locations in the Roanoke Valley, Hampton Roads and now Richmond at 2545 Gayton Centre Dr, open by appointment only. CATS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Check out the available inventories at www.atdevicesforkids.org, and review the terms of service. Contact us with questions at [email protected]. CATS is creating communities where all available equipment is in use by children who need it.
