On August 13, 2017, River City Inclusive Gymnastics hosted DSAGR’s Adventurers social group. The afternoon was full of excitement as athletes of various skills and abilities tested their coordination, balance, and strength. The Adventurers group was comprised of about 7 children ages 6-12 . After a quick warm-up that included bear crawling, bunny hopping and hurdle jumping the group began working on basic gymnastic skills. These skills included balance, coordination, and strength training and were presented to each Adventurer as activities on part of an obstacle course. Jumping on the trampoline seemed to be a favorite activity as smiles could be seen from across the gym. Some of the other obstacles that the group conquered were walking on a balance beam, swinging on a rope, swinging on rings and climbing a rock wall. The Adventures ended their time at the gym with an action-packed game of baseball. The River City coaches were easily defeated by the awesome hitting of the Adventurers. After the baseball game, the afternoon ended with high fives, smiles and much needed water break.
