My name is Cassie Coughlan, and I’m a junior in the Center for Education and Human Development at Glen Allen High School. I’ve been volunteering with Jacob’s Chance for a few years, and have acted as a member of the High School Board of Directors, helping plan Teen Scene events. As part of a service learning project and in partnership with Amanda Hall, an adjunct professor at VCU, Jacob’s Chance, and the I’m Determined Project, we will be having a Career Day for students with special needs and their parents on Saturday, May 6 from 11 am to 1 pm at North Park Library in the meeting room.
The program will include activities designed to teach students how to tackle an interview, solve problems in the workplace, and plan for the future. Jackie Neidle, from the I’m Determined Project, will be speaking about some additional opportunities. Please RSVP on this Google Form. If you want more information, check out the attached flyer!
Pass The Hat
This Saturday May 6, 2017 is our Annual Pass The Hat game between St Christopher’s and Benedictine. Both teams come together to play each other and raise money for our programs. This is always an exciting baseball game and I encourage everyone to attend if possible.
We need your support for this event. We need lots of players and buddies to come out and assist with collecting donations and to show support to these two great schools.
Date: May 6, 2017
Time: 6:30pm
Location: RF&P Park @ the stadium field.
Please feel free to contact Jacob’s Chance with any questions.
