My goal is to get back to writing a little more, and this seems like the perfect week to get started. I am challenging myself to publish one a day until Marky’s 18th birthday .
I thought I would start with some of the positive things Marky has gained from the pandemic. We have realized so many things during this time together at home, and many of them actually have been good.
Here are 7 things I have noticed and he has learned :
- He has become more aware of a schedule and the times that things start and end.
- He has learned how to do laundry . NOT always doing it, but he knows how to now.
- He also has taken on new responsibilities in the home.
- He is the most aware of the importance of mask wearing and hand washing. He also reminds us regularly of this .
- He knows when he needs space and takes a break. He will tell us and then “ask for some time” .
- He can be flexible. As things continue to change, he is able to adapt .
- He laughs. We may not know what he is laughing at, but he does and he has a laugh that is contagious.
I have been able to watch him in so many new ways and see so many things I never knew. I continue to be learning so much about him. I would not have been able to see this all, if we weren’t home, now my insight is so much brighter to help guide him for a successful path ahead.
Today I am focusing on some of the bright spots.
