The Board of the Autism Society Central Virginia (ASCV) is pleased to announce and welcome Ann Flippin as its new Executive Director.
Ann comes to the ASCV with ten years of fundraising, development, and management experience. Her career began at the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of Autism Speaks, where she managed several large scale events and initiatives, including their Philadelphia Walk. Most recently Ann was the Campaign Director for the Virginia Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In her six years there, she oversaw several programs and events and had a track record for leading fundraising campaigns through substantial growth. Ann’s experience with leading programs and partnering with boards, volunteers, participants, and sponsors will help move the ASCV into a new phase of sustainability and impact for the autism community.
Since Ann has a brother with autism (Jamie, age 26), she has experienced firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and families in our community. “My passion for and close connection to the ASCV’s mission make me eager to begin this important role and be part of providing families with much needed programs and support,” said Ann. “The ASCV has helped my family tremendously over the years, and I am honored to join this very talented and dedicated team.”
Staci Carr, ASCV Board President, states “We, [the Board members of the ASCV] are thrilled to have Ann join us in carrying out the mission of the ASCV. Her personal connection to autism, her passion for growing the already outstanding services the ASCV provides, and her professional expertise offer a winning combination.”
Please join us in welcoming Ann! The ASCV Board is holding an Open House on Friday, February 9th from 5:30pm-6:30pm at River Road United Methodist Church to give ASCV families and the community an opportunity to meet Ann and welcome her as the Executive Director of the ASCV!
We hope you and your family will be able to attend.
Ann will begin full time with the ASCV on January 15, 2018.
