Dear KNOWDifferent Families,
June is here , Summer is closer, our community is moving to our new normal, with many things reopening. How is this all impacting you? I hope it is smooth and moving in a direction that feels good for you and your loved ones.
My truth is, it has been very hard for me. Not much is feeling easy right now and as I have shared in the past year, sharing through my writing has not been something that I have been able to do. I hope I can get to a place that some of the writing I have done on my own, will be shared here.
Virtual school has been exhausting for me & Marky. We are in month 15 and it is almost over. He is a “senior” and that has made this all so much harder. Decisions having to be made that just aren’t fair. Yes, I know, life is not fair- but that doesn’t make it any easier. We made the decision that he will not attend ceremonies, as he is going back to school. I am ok with this decision BUT I am just not ok with having to make these decisions. Does that make any sense ? I am going to share something written by a friend, as she sums it up so perfectly. Thank you, Emilie, your words hit me hard.

I know “this too shall pass” and together, we will guide and support Marky to figure out the next chapter. For those of you who have been through this, I know you get it. For those of you not yet here, I hope things change to supply more and better options for our children. It is just a culmination of SO many things at once and our choices are so limited, and our children deserve more.
My picture above of a butterfly represents all of our special need children :
Butterflies are so strong yet so fragile
Butterflies are beautiful and all so different
Butterflies transform over a long period of time, with many stages and all are defining
Butterflies make so many of us smile as we watch them – just like our children.
When you see the next butterfly fly by, smile and think about how much our babies get done in a day!
With Summer and more free time , I am sharing some ideas for outdoor activities . Watch for more this month.
