Young Professionals Can Dig In at Camp Baker on 3/21
Rebecca Moncayo first learned about SOAR365’s Camp Baker when a relative with autism returned home from its summer program. “He was the happiest person in the world,” she says. The experience inspired her to join the Next Generation Council (NGC), a SOAR365 leadership group for young professionals, ages 21-45. “There are a lot of people with disabilities in Richmond and I wanted to help and engage in my community,” she explained. Rebecca’s not alone. Now more than ever, Gen Z and Millennials are stepping up in their communities, as an illuminating Points of Light Foundation survey showed, with a whopping 73 percent saying volunteer service is important.
To learn more about the NGC, plan to dig in at the next beautification event on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Camp Baker. It’s an opportunity to meet NGC members and other volunteers, roll up your sleeves to plant, mulch and paint, and enjoy the fresh air and outdoor setting. Don’t miss this unique and meaningful opportunity to make a real difference with your time, energy, skills, and commitment. To register, visit the HandsOn RVA Opportunity Calendar (March 21) or send an email to [email protected].
