We are excited to launch several new virtual programs this Winter, including:
*Elementary School Social Group –
Our NEW ASCV Elementary Social Group is designed for kids with autism in grades 3-5. The facilitated group will meet monthly and includes discussion, interactive activities, and opportunities to socialize.
Chess Series for Teens – We are partnering with New York Scholastic Chess Club to offer two back-to-back virtual chess series for middle & high schoolers with autism! Our first 8-week series will offer an introduction to chess, and our second session be an advanced series for students who already know the basics of chess. *ART 180 Series for Elementary Students – Through these workshops led by artists from ART 180, participants will use mindful breathing techniques, gentle movement, common household items, and basic art supplies to creatively explore the world around them. Please note: The activities will be different than the series we did with ART 180 in the fall.
*ART 180 Series for Teens – Through this weekly series with Art 180, participants will use paint and collage materials to explore how we are affected by our surrounding atmosphere, mood, and energy. This is a wonderful opportunity for teens to connect with others, share their unique voice and ideas, and express their creativity! Please note: The activities will be different than the series we did with ART 180 in the fall.
FreeHorse Arts Yoga Series for Adults with Autism – We are collaborating with FreeHorse Arts to host a yoga series for adults with autism! An instructor from Project Yoga Richmond is leading us in activities aimed to relax and restore the mind, body and spirit through activities accessible to all participants. For more information and to register, click HERE.
Support Group for Women with Autism – The ASCV is partnering with UVA STAR to host a new virtual support group for females on the spectrum. We will be holding two groups – one for teens and one group for adults, and we will be using the first group to get some feedback about the direction and format of the group. This is a great opportunity to meet other girls and women with autism, and we hope you will join us! For more information and to register, click HERE.
*ASCV Members – please see your Weekly Program Registration Email for registration information.
