About this Event
Virginia Hands & Voices is pleased to present a Virtual Learning Opportunity via Zoom focusing on Educational Advocacy 101 For Families. Please join us on Friday, November 6 at 4:00 pm as we welcome Tawny Holmes Hlibok, M.A., J.D., Esq., Education Policy Counsel at the National Association for the Deaf (NAD) and Assistant Professor, Department of Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University.
Tawny provides policy consultation on a local, state, national, and global level. Tawny is one of the rare (if not the only) Deaf attorneys with a Masters’ Degree in Deaf Education and has experience teaching deaf students of all ages. Tawny also teaches at Gallaudet University focusing on sign language rights and advocacy.
All parents and professionals are welcome. Bring your notebooks and questions! We will leave ample time after the presentation for questions.
