24.4 miles walked in 26 hours in NYC on a quick getaway with my hubby. This was a gift for my birthday and it is something we rarely get to do. I was an anxious and a stressed out wreck leading up to the trip. I wanted to bail a few times, but thanks to my oldest daughter, our guy was well taken care of and we had a blast.
NYC is an easy destination to get to, there is always something to do and it doesn’t have to be expensive.
We had zero plans minus a concert that was on my bucket list and enjoyed every second of exploring. I am sharing some of my tips on how we saved money too.
I realize this is not an easy thing for many of us to do , but with some planning, it can be done. I also think that if a destination like NYC is a little too far, start closer to home and work your way up. I am making a goal to try for this 2 times a year. If I get it in once, I will be thrilled.
Here is a picture summary of our walkathon in NYC!
The first picture is the first billboard my eyes caught in the airport, if you are a believer in signs, you will know I took this as a good one.

Planes trains and automobiles were all a part of making some great memories , but, our feet really got us there!
Kudos to my hubby and girls for making it all work!
My tips-
Hotel Tonight is an amazing app we use that offers the lowest prices around. we loved our hotel and would go back in a heartbeat.Download the app and use our code MGARABEDIAN3 for up tp $50 off your booking!
We flew in to Newark, which was hundreds cheaper then a NY airport and super easy to get to NYC by train for $15 each.
If you can get away, don’t stress over things with time constraints, enjoy NOT having a schedule ! We ate breakfast late, had no where to be except the concert and enjoyed just exploring and having some down time. I even read a book on the plane trips!
I hope you enjoyed this visual trip to NYC and that it inspires you to find a little time to escape and explore. It did my heart, mind and body good!
xoxo
