As we get ready to send our children back to school, here is what I have been praying for every night, for all of our children:
Give me the strength to be his voice when he cannot
May he find a friend that will look out for him and seek him out to share things with.
May he learn to use his voice to be heard
May he not sit alone at lunch
May his teachers remember he is more than a grade and may they find the ways to reach his abilities
May others in his path appreciate his uniqueness and may the laughs only be WITH not AT him
May those that join groups or activities to connect with our kids, not forget them when the “club” is over
Lastly, for those of us who have kids that cannot tell us about their day, may the staff find ways to get us information to help us feel connected
Every year, emotions and fears are strong. Every year, we do it again, and it is never easier.
I send you all a hug and hope that our kids feel accepted, feel included and that communication is strong
Much Love
Carissa
