Helping people with disabilities to reach their full potential is at the core of SOAR365’s mission. For many, that means joining the workforce. Here at SOAR365, we create a strong foundation that can help an individual achieve his or her employment goals.
How does it work? Because we understand that working is a huge goal for anyone who’s never done it before, we begin by focusing on the soft skills that are needed to hold down a job. These are basic work skills—like getting to work on time, staying on a schedule, following a supervisor’s work directives, or getting along with others to become an effective team member.
Once these soft skills are mastered, our prospective job seekers begin learning specific skills that are needed for jobs that are performed by our own Business Solutions workforce. That includes learning skills needed for jobs in the fields of Janitorial & Custodial Services, Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance, Assembly & Logistics, Administrative Services or Digital Imaging.
But we don’t stop there. We’re not just interested in helping men and women prepare for a job. We want them to find—and keep—the ideal job for them. That’s where our Supported Employment program kicks in. When a job seeker in our Workforce Development program is ready, we assign him or her to a Job Coach, who helps to navigate the employment world. From understanding the individual’s interests and what would be a good career fit, to researching and applying for jobs, and all the way to getting hired and settling into successful employment, there is help every step of the way.
Getting a job starts here—in our Workforce Development program.
