The ASCV is excited to announce that Hallie Hovey-Murray will be joining us as the speaker for our January workshop on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 7pm at RiverRoad United Methodist Church, 8800 River Road in Richmond.
Hallie is a disability advocate, speaker and author of the self-published book “Overcoming Expectations” about her experiences as a young woman on the Autism Spectrum. She is currently a third-law student at William and Mary School of Law and president of the One in 68 Foundation, a Richmond based 501(c)(3) which works to help provide college preparatory resources for high school students on the autism spectrum.
At January’s workshop, Hallie will be sharing her personal story and highlighting parenting strategies that helped her succeed, techniques that were unsuccessful, and ways to best support individuals with autism at different stages of development with an emphasis on promoting independence. We hope you can join us for January’s workshop. We are confident Hallie’s presentation will leave you feeling inspired and energized as we kick-off the new year!
