The Teal Pumpkin Project was launched in 2014 by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) to ensure a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience for kids with allergies.
Halloween can be fun for those with allergies and special food needs. We can help to ensure this happens and it does not have to take a lot of effort.
PrintTo participate, take the Teal Pumpkin Pledge and pick up a non-food treat to hand out to trick-or-treaters: stickers, pencils, tattoos, whatever you like and think trick-or-treaters might enjoy. Dollar stores are a great place to grab some goodies.
To let families know you are joining in on the Teal Pumpkin Project you can either paint one of your halloween pumpkins teal or download and print out the flyer her and tape it to your front door.
You can still give out candy for those that can, just keep a separate bowl of the goodies for the kids that are participating in the Teal Project. It is a GREAT way for all to fit in!
All neighborhoods can join in and I would love to see Richmond step it up this year to include more ! Get involved and have some fun!
The website offers great ideas, downloads and lots of info.
