Coming soon! The Greater Richmond ARC’s ARCpark features three brand new events
“Wine down Wednesday” for adults.
A Kids Summer Series.
Summer Fest that now spans three days.
Those are among the events to be enjoyed soon at ARCpark, a 2.4 acre all-inclusive recreational area with unique features like three state-of-the-art playgrounds for people with and without disabilities adjoining the Greater Richmond ARC at 3600 Saunders Avenue.
The first-ever “Wine down Wednesday” is May 17, 2017. This social event for adults (age 21 and up) has live music, wine, beer, food trucks, along with the opportunity for grown-ups to relax and have fun in a playful setting. A $10 entry fee includes one drink ticket. “It’s a chance for adults to take over ARCpark for an evening,” said ARC’s Volunteer Engagement and Event Manager Cindy Stubbe. “And it’s a pretty cool place for the optimum date night.”
The first-ever Kids Summer Series is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 6, 11, 18 and 15. There will be a different theme every week, and admission is free, with a special gift to the first 100 children in attendance. “So many people visit the ARCpark each and every day for unstructured play time. This summer, we thought it would be great to offer a few opportunities for children to enjoy some planned programming,” Stubbe said. “This is a way to give back to our own community that supports us so well.”
And last year’s ARCpark Summer Fest was so successful that it has been expanded to three days: Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4. On Friday evening, ARCpark After Dark from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. will be for adults only (ages 21 and up) to enjoy live music, wine and beer for an admission price of $10 that includes one drink ticket. On Saturday, “Finding Nemo” is the film fare for Family Movie Night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. event is free.
And this year’s expanded Summer Fest will conclude on Sunday, June 4, with a community-friendly festival from non to 4 p.m. with music, crafts, food trucks and the annual ARC Creations Art Show.
