Every week there must be at least an hour of waiting time where we can help to make our lives a little easier.
It may be while our kids are in a therapy group, doctors visit, sport or club. I am usually in the car and find myself scrolling Facebook. I thought about how much time I am wasting and wondered what I could do to be more productive.
Here is the list I came up with of things to feel more productive or even relaxed:
1. Read
Have your book, magazine or other reading material on you at all times. When the window of time is there, you will have it to access.
2. Write
Whether it is ideas, your inner most thoughts or a letter you owe to your Great Aunt, keep a journal on you so these moments don’t get wasted.
3. Clean it out.
Your pocketbook, your wallet, maybe even your glove compartment. I have so many old receipts and notes that this can be done weekly for me.
4. Plan Meals
Grab your notebook, see, aren’t you glad you have it? Write down what you need for the week and the meals you are planning. If you prefer to be digital, then use Pinterest and your notes and save away!
5. Music
How often do you get to listen to YOUR music. Grab your buds and play some tunes while you wait. So what if you dance in your seat. Is it nice out? Take the buds on a walk.
6. Reply To Emails
Catch up on the flagged/ saved emails from the last few weeks, while you are at it, trash the ones you do not need.
7. Schedule appointments
Doctors, hair , dentist… we tend not to take care of the ones we need, so make them now!
8. Walk
If you can, grab those buds and take a walk around the area you are waiting in, even ten minutes can be a great burst.
9. Nothing
Just sit back and wait, close your eyes, if you fall asleep, even better. Just maybe set your alarm in case?!
Anything else you can think of?
