IEP Boot Camp – March 31 & April 1

This 2 session workshop series will empower parents / caregivers to understand and become effective partners in the I.E.P. process.
Attendance at BOTH sessions is required as the second session builds upon the first session.

Non-member of the Autism Society Central VA: $35 plus processing fees
Registration includes: IEP Boot Camp Toolkit, additional manuals and materials, pizza dinner on Friday, March 31 and light breakfast on Saturday, April 1. Participants should bring a bag lunch for Saturday, April 1. Registrations are non-refundable, but substitutions will be allowed with advance notice.
A limited number of free childcare spaces is also available on the evening of Friday, March 31st on a first come basis. Pre-registration is required for childcare. If you are interested in childcare, contact us at [email protected] for the link to register.

Presenter:
Tammy Burns, ASCV Outreach Coordinator
Tammy has a long relationship with the Autism Society beginning with the diagnosis of her son, Jared, in 2000. Tammy has held leadership positions with the Society, including service as Board President, and Office Manager. Tammy received her BA from Virginia Tech in Elementary Education, and received her Masters of Education in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from Arizona State. Tammy is a Partners in Policymaking Graduate, and a volunteer Family Navigator for the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS). Tammy is a Certified Sibshop leader. In addition, Tammy is the Chair of the Chesterfield County Special Education Advisory Committee. She and her husband, Troy, have three children – Brett (20), Jared (18) and Amber (16).
