Candy can be a little much for many of our kids, special needs or not, so here is a real simple list of things most kids will love and have some fun with. We’ve also come up with some fun ideas for a date night that wont break the bank!
1. Bubbles
2. Glow Sticks
3. Stamps/ Stickers
4. Pencils/Crayons
5. Whoopie Cushion
6. Straws
7. Play Dough
8. Coupons- make a sheet of fun things to give your kids. Ex- “good for one breakfast out” ” redeem for day off chores” you can be as creative as you like.
Date Night Ideas – You can also make this an afternoon or morning, if that works best. Finding a little time for you is what matters most!
1. Write a love letter to your partner and give it to them while you are celebrating. You can make it a top 10 list if you want to have some fun with it.
2. Order from your favorite restaurant at lunch time, even if you are going to have it for dinner. The cost will be less.
3. If you opt for #2, make a picnic at home
4. Make a special breakfast, shape toast or pancakes in a heart shape
5. Check your local savings sites and see if there is a class you can take together. Many offer dance or sporting specials.
6. Make IOU coupons. They can be for cleaning, errands, anything you want.
7. Repeat your first date, If you don’t live in the same area, just redo what you did that day.
8. Take a picture and make a card out of it, if you can find one from when you first met, include that.
I hope these are helpful and if your Valentine’s Day will be with your kids and partner- combine a little of both and make it a special memory!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
