14 years ago, I was home holding my 18 month old on my hip, just sent my 8 year old to school and hubby to work.
I was watching the Today show and the sky was a beautiful blue, the day was crisp ( we lived in NY), and I was ready to conquer the day. Then, the day conquered us. I watched as the plane hit the Twin Tower and thought, wow, this is a terrible accident. Then, the second, still, no-one on TV or around me was mentioning Terrorism, but our minds raced. Then we heard.
I quickly called school to check on my daughter, checked on my husband and then quickly started calling all I could to be sure they were safe.
Although my family was safe, many of our friends were not. The day changed us all.
Fast forward, we now are a family of 5, my youngest was not yet born, my middle has no memory of the day and my oldest has pictures she drew in school. Today, we hold much gratitude along with quiet fear. The world has changed, but we stay strong, united and positive.
Here are the quotes I found to reflect on this day and to move forward with hope. Today and every day, say I love you and hold your loved ones close.
XO
