Hello! We are the clinicians at Tandem Mental Health Associates, Inc. and we are excited to introduce ourselves and our practice to you. We provide mental health treatment to individuals, couples, and families of all ages, however, we specialize in adolescents and families dealing with difficult to treat behaviors or disorders. We also provide complete psychological and educational assessment services, skill building classes, consultations, trainings, and workshops. We are currently running a “Managing Intense Emotions” group for adolescents and adults.
We provide “out of the box” training and services to our clients and pride ourselves on not being your typical outpatient treatment facility. Our most recent workshop was on Self Compassion. We contracted with Broken Road Farm to have mini animals we could hold and comfort as participants learned about judgments we make of ourselves and others, the importance of self compassion and ways to improve self care. We have also conducted workshops on challenging behaviors in youth, self-harming behaviors, and couples and family workshops.
We have pet rats that help teach skills and provide comfort and cuteness to our sessions and they are available during sessions upon request! We also have a therapy dog in training and are open to pet therapy, art therapy, and other additional treatment modalities to assist in making therapy a less stigmatized experience and one that can actually be fun, even if it is intense.
We believe strongly in collaborating with other professionals or important people in our clients’ lives and work hard to maintain close contact with treatment providers to ensure continuity of care. We are willing to participate in school meetings, attend physician or psychiatry appointments, hold sessions outside of the office, and generally tailor sessions to meet the needs of each individual or family.
Please take a look at our website (which is currently under new construction), give us a call, or set up a free 10 minute consultation to see if one of us can provide the service you have been seeking. We truly look forward to networking within the community and continuing to provide services to those in need.
