Happy February! January was a tough month for me. I’m going with the belief that if it started off on the uphill climb, the next 11 months are going to slowly descent with a little more ease. I know you all have those days, weeks and months. I also know that we are some of the strongest and resilient Care Bears out there and we never quit. Although, there are days, we really want to.
One of the tough moments came when my son decided to cut all of his hair a day before his 16th birthday, I wrote about it and you can read it below. In writing about it, I realized how therapeutic it is for me to share some of my raw moments and after some emails from a few readers, I decided to continue with the column, hopefully on a monthly basis. I would welcome any other parents to be a guest writer. I think we help one another so much with experiences. Please get in touch if you’d like to write something for ” Autism, The Unwanted Guest”. “Autism” can be subbed in with whatever word best fits your situation as well!
Our IEP was rescheduled, initially this caused me some stress, but, I quickly realized it was a gift to allow some more time to plan and prepare for what will be next for our guy! More on that later..
