Hard to believe October is here already! I know I will start to see and hear the holiday season sooner than I am ready for. Some friends have shared that they already are seeing this, I am going to “stay in October”. I love the weather in October and one of my favorite Fall activities happens this month, The Folk Festival. If you haven’t tried it yet, I suggest you do. It is a family friendly, free event. It is at Brown’s Island and there is music all weekend, playing all throughout the venue and from all over the world. Our son enjoys it too, you do not have to be too close the music if sound is an issue for your child.
This past month was a hard one for me, I did not find the time to do any personal writing. I lost my best friend in NY to cancer. I am still very numb to this reality, and it has impacted me in so many ways. I always share here to make the memories matter, now I am living my own advice. Life is a gift and every day should be treated as such.
Don’t forget to to join us for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond’s 12th Annual Step UP for Down Syndrome 5K & Family Festival. It is going to be a great day , for a great cause and we are so excited to be a part of it.
