April is always a month that brings smiles and sadness. I love that we have a month to raise awareness and at the same time I dislike that we need to raise awareness. I wish and hope for awareness all the time for all of our babies with special needs. I pray and dream that we all could be embraced for “our best” and not the person next to us.
A month is a great thing for those around us to know and help raise awareness, for us, we live it every day and realize that a month is just not enough.
I find myself really holding onto the gifts that Marky teaches me, the lessons I preach to my kids and friends, and being grateful for the simplicity he can exist with. Sometimes, I think I am a little too preachy and that some walk away not really getting me, that is ok because I believe I have become a voice to help others and that I will help someone, which in turn, helps me.
I wrote a piece below about the gifts and traits Marky has that I wish I had more of. I hope you enjoy it.
