“We are happy to announce our newest location in the Richmond Short Pump area. After serving the Fredericksburg area for the last 6 years, we felt it was time to expand and add our services to provide needed quality care in the Richmond area. We are fortunate and excited to be able to help children and their families in this area, and also plan to be an integral part of the community”, stated Dr. Stacie Fox, SLPD CCC-SLP
Fox Therapy Center is the first center in Virginia to earn its certification of Autism care from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This designation means that the Fox Therapy staff, from the front office to the clinicians, have undergone a rigorous training process that will assist in providing services for those who have Autism. This means that parents of children with Autism can be confident that we not only understand your child, but are competent to provide the best services possible for your child.
See what our patients and staff have to say:
“We have been so blessed to have found Fox Therapy Center! Our child was nonverbal and would get so frustrated when he could not get his message across. Since receiving therapy services at the Fredericksburg location, he is now using an AAC device and is able to communicate all his wants and needs! In addition, he is able to say words now and grows in his skill every week! The therapists are fantastic with him and he LOVES going to speech and occupational therapy! Richmond parents will love the new center!”
“When we came to Fox Therapy Center, my little boy only had vowel sounds to represent words, but no consonants. I was grief-stricken by his diagnosis and pondered what kind of outcome he would have. The speech therapist encouraged and helped both of us through the entire therapy process. Today, he speaks intelligibly in sentences! I cannot even think of Fox Therapy Center without emotion overwhelming my heart with gratitude!”
“Since working for Fox Therapy Center for the past 2 years, I have seen children develop and progress in there speech and sensory difficulties. I have seen children that are non verbal be able to communicate their needs and wants, and discover their voice through the use of AAC. There is no greater reward in the world to have a child say “mommy/daddy” for the first time and know that you are a part of it. Just because a child is non verbal does not mean they do not understand what is being said to them. AAC has been incredibly effective in assisting our patients.”
